Chimney Sweep

I love you, O Lord, my strength.

As for God, His way is perfect;
the Word of the Lord is flawless.
He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.
For who is God beside the Lord?

And who is the rock, except our God?
It is God who arms me with strength
And makes my way perfect.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
He enables me to stand on the heights.

He trains my hands for battle;
My arms can bend a bow of bronze.
You give me Your shield of victory,
And Your right hand sustains me.

You stoop down to make me great.
You broaden the path beneath me,
So that my ankles do not turn.
Psalm 18:1,30-36

I've been reading Psalm 18 for a couple of days in a row here. So many images of God's rescuing and supernaturally strengthening David. I need both these days.

My surgery went fine a week ago, thanks be to God. Recovery has been weird. I'm regaining the hearing in that ear now, which is both disorienting and exciting.

BB's wisdom teeth are outta there, his procedure went great, and he's recovering well. But he's super ready for real food!

Photos: the past few weeks have been tough, but the kids did get to dress up as historical characters for school on Wednesday, hooray. They had to be a personality or citizen from the years we've studied so far in world history (late 1600's to mid-1800's). I was glad the Lord allowed that to work out - five costumes. We were able to use mostly stuff we had here, so that was nice.

LC was a chimney sweep from Industrial Revolution era England. Her costume and look were fun to put together because it was supposed to be sloppy and ill-fitting.

Oh, and the onions: LC was responsible for cutting green onions for supper one night recently. An hour or two later, I saw these little guys lined up on the countertop, having been given personality by an 8 year old with a Sharpie. Love it.

  2. Century ago, these stories was real and a lot of sad stories happened especially for those kids to forcefully work. We should really appreciate and treat our children the thing they should be treated. Now, I love the chimney sweep service with real man working for us.
