He Will Direct Your Path, and Happy Thanksgiving to All!

With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him. Psalm 18: 29-30

With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our fathers; you crushed the peoples and made our fathers flourish. It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them. You are my King and my God, who decrees victories for Jacob. Psalm 44:2-4

Got a lot going on here the next few days? Travel? Cooking? Shopping? Feeling a little stressed, perhaps? I'm feeling tempted to be...

BUT, that is not God's way, is it? It hit me a few moments ago that the two biggest things I need to accomplish in the next two days are things Jesus has clearly told me not to worry about: food and clothing! I want to make my family a lovely little feast (and the Lord has provided), and well, the laundry is pretty much always behind and we need clean clothes for a quick overnight road trip this weekend.

[Jesus said], "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?" Matthew 6:25

And this keeps coming into my mind, from the Lord, no doubt, over and over: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

And, oh, but He will...He will direct my paths, moment by moment, hour by hour in this and in every day, as I call on His Name. I will ask for Help, Direction, Wisdom. I will have a praising and thanking spirit.

God bless you and Happy Thanksgiving. Let's thank God for making a Way, through Jesus, for us to be friends with God!

Count your many blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done! (hymn, J. Oatman, Jr., 1897).

  2. Thanks, Christian! Found that while going through old digital albums last night. It's from February, and is one of those that if you could see the bigger picture around it, it's NOT one of photogenic loveliness...the sun obscures some unwanted detail, and I love how close up photos draw out beauty that's sometimes lost in that big picture!
