He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour...Have you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of the hail?
Job 37:6, 38:22

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51:7

This...this all takes my breath away. Unbelievably rare. Undisturbed. Gasp. A mercy all its own, this frozen anomaly.

over our back fence...tried to get out and take pics before the world was awake...before my kids were awake, anyway!

their faces were priceless when they saw!

She got whooshed in the face with the dusty snow :-(
After that, she was done with snow.

nevermind the dead grass just below our 3/4 inch of snow

Central Texas snow people, made by MK

They think they'll be "together forever," but that's because they don't know how soon their doom will come.

MK's so clever. I bet you never saw a snowperson with eyelids! She used pistachios, telling me it was because it looked like real eyes. Love it.

Got some really special mercies and thoughts...maybe I can add them later or post tonight...right now: school!

  1. Ha! My personal weather man (mother) told me you guys got some snow. Enjoy!

  2. Snow!! Y'all got some snow! How beautiful, as are your photos.

  3. Lovely! We're only getting downpour these days, humid thunderstorms and flooding. Takes my breath away too, the power and beauty of God seen in the weather.

  4. Yay!!! So you actually got your snow! I know the girls were so excited. Love the photo of the snowperson with eyelashes....your children's creativity kills me :)
