Astounding

Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever....Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men. Psalm 107:1,8

This is astounding to me...that there's a person inside of me, less than 3 inches long, who is very, very human looking - oh, those skinny little legs - and I cannot see it or it feel it.

I think I become more amazed at God's gift of children with each one He gives us.

BB and I went for our initial appointment a week ago, and were very pleasantly surprised to be offered a quick ultrasound, just to check on Baby. What a blessing, a kindness from the Lord. Usually, by this point in pregnancy, we'd at least heard a heartbeat, but not this time, so the ultrasound was a wonderful surprise! We have not seen any of our babies at this stage of development, so I was just floored, despite all I've read in books and pictures I have seen...this teeny-tiny person was doing flips, arching its back, nodding its head, stretching legs...even though my body doesn't look very pregnant yet. I still can't get over it.

I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

I could go on and on, but I won't. The right words aren't there.

Thank You, Lord, for this blessing on us, this joy. And thank You for the lovely, happy privilege of seeing Baby!

Another blessing - the nighttime sickness and such are easing tremendously, hooray! Oh, and I do think the baby's smiling in the picture - a big open-mouthed smile...ha!

  1. Ultrasound photos never cease to fill me with wonder... wonder of God's goodness, God's timing, God's creativity... wonder of Him. Praising Him for your precious little one (and mine), both already dearly beloved by Him (and us!).
