Thankful

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
       the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor
. Psalm 8:3-5

I'm amazed at God's kindness, His mercies. What am I, what are we, that He pays attention to us? He is good beyond good. I have little else to say this day, but other things are brewing in my heart and mind, that may end up here in time. For now - God does all things well and I'm rejoicing in His gifts.

Valentine's morning. They got up all excited to see the surprises we put out. This photo made me happy - a moment I can't believe I caught, especially in poor light. The tiny cookies were from me, the one wrapped chocolate for each was from their daddy. CA, left, MK on the right.

Oh, the cuteness! After they looked at their Valentine's and surprises, they had "special breakfast" of frozen toaster waffles, whipped cream and strawberries...a little tradition here at our house on V-day. MK, CA, LC, EG.

The fun part for me: BB got me a small box of chocolates, each one different from the other. Now, are these mushrooms too pretty to eat? Almost. Almost. I'll make them last. BB's kindnesses overwhelm me.

So, it's not a great photo, BUT I had to include it. And yes, I took photos of each chocolate. Too cute not to record forever. This is the only one I've tasted so far and what a fun shock it was: jalapeno meets dark chocolate ganache. What a blast!

The neverending Mercies list goes on...

34 the word "mack-da-ongey" (CA's word for macaroni)

35 hearing one of my children ask God to help her with an issue I've been praying over - what a gentle encouragement that was!

36 the believers at our church who devote themselves to being available to pray with others (like me) on Sunday mornings

37 lengthening daylight - oh, my soul begins to breathe!

38 chocolates on Valentine's Day

39 my dear, dear out-of-town girlfriends who really are always there for me - each of them is a gift and treasure

40 blue sky

41 natural light (read: some sunlight at last) for taking photos

42 that All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16), even the dryer sections and the ones that don't speak to me in this moment

43 guitar-playing husband, what a blessing his music is to our family

44 that the girls started trying to write a play yesterday, with Volumes I, II, and III (they meant Acts I, II, III). This was inspired by Peppers Midway.
