A Hard, Hard Day for the Ones I Love

Then Job replied to the LORD: "I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. Job 42:1-2

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18

Tomorrow (Monday) will be a difficult day for my parents and others in my family I hold very dear. I hate to be maddeningly cryptic, but because of privacy issues, I must be. I am sharing this, though, so that if you are willing, you can join me and many, many others in praying for them as they face a long-awaited and trying day, full of much uncertainty and intensity.

We all have peace knowing that God will do His good and perfect will in all things. Please pray that God will be glorified - and that all those touched by tomorrow's goings on will recognize Him and His Hand and give Him glory. Please pray for my parents and other loved ones that Jehovah-Shalom (the Lord is Peace) would so control them that His presence would be obvious to them and those around them, again for His glory.

As with all situations in life, there's definitely an outcome we prefer to these uncertainties. And our prayer is for that outcome to occur, but we say as Jesus did, yet not my will, but Yours be done. Luke 22:42

I (we) deeply appreciate your prayers in these things. And if you have read this after the fact, and would still like to pray, do know my parents and family still do need continue to walk in faith, trusting our loving Father, for healing of hearts, for God to draw souls to Himself for salvation through Christ.

Many humble thanks....

Photos are from a wonderful day we enjoyed as a family yesterday...much more to come on that soon!
1-Granite stones and a lovely, lonely purple flower - liked the juxtaposition of tiny, fragile and big, unmoveable
2-Big old live oak tree...they are so gnarly and twisted, take so long to grow big. This one made great shade for our picnic

  1. Praying with faith this morning that the truth will resound and that God will give wisdom and insight to the decision makers. I've also been pondering the miracle He performed in our own family a few years ago when a certain outcome seemed to be the only possible outcome, yet His plan and purposes prevailed despite the odds.

  2. I hope all goes well - thinking of you, praying for you.
