The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
Psalm 23: 1-3
Flowers from my true love...
As I looked around my room the other night, it occurred to me that most of the color and beauty around me is here because of the thoughtfulness of other people.
So I decided to take photos the next day of the bright spots in my room. All of these are evidence of a loving heart God has placed in my life. And I'm just glad. I'm glad and amazed that the Lord has made me most wealthy in friendships and loving relationships. He has sustained me (us) through all this, and is continuing to do so. There is weariness creeping in, but I'm praying we finish well. I know He will help us!
A little tour of the love I see around me in this room...
A happy orange bag-tag from my friend E has brightened up my one drawer for several weeks now
A beautiful blue It's a Boy! bow from my mom, ready to hang on the door once Baby H arrives
MK's rendition of Vermeer's Girl With a Pearl Earring. All 4 big girls did this painting in their art class in the spring. They each did a fantastic job!
From where I hung the painting in my room, it really looks like Miss Girl With a Pearl Earring is staring at me...
EG's version of Van Gogh's Starry Night. All four big girls also did this in their art class. Their teacher encouraged them to personalize their work just a bit in different ways, but EG was adamant about making hers as authentic as possible. They all did a beautiful job on this one, too. Sometime, I need to post all of them here.
Mrs. M brought me a flower that won't die - wonderful pop of pink by my bed in a fun glass bottle
From J - wonderful reminder, and she made it so pretty!
Look! Sweet handmade burp cloths from a faraway friend - done up in my most favorite colors - oranges and blues!
CA and LC colored these for me (smile)
Quite by accident I discovered artist Charley Harper while searching for a calendar on Amazon. I'm hooked. His stuff is simple, beautiful, whimsical. So, how fun to get this post card in the mail from my (super artistic!) mother in law Back Home!
Providential timing and topic on this one (help! prayer is hard for me!) - a wonderful gift from another faraway friend. She had several goodies in one package, all wrapped and labeled very creatively, very pretty
And what else can I say to all this love and beauty but...
A much-needed pack of Thank You notes, along with other happy treats sent by BB's sister early in my stay here.
And I pray to be the blessing to others that so many have been to me!
