He is Kind {Edited a few times...He keeps showering down goodness}

I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love;
I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them.
Hosea 11:4

1017. Flossy white-blonde curls

Today, I just want to say God has been kind to me. His kindness is everywhere, everyday. It's in the big things - Jesus has redeemed me. It's in the small things - the sweetness of her shiny, wild hair.
Thanks to you all who have sent in your mercies. It's so fun to read the ways God has been kind to you. And it'll be so fun to publish the big list before too long. And choose two winners for the giveaway! Your list needs to be emailed by 8pm on Friday, August 19th in order to be entered for the prizes.

We're in the last push in the back-to-school preparations. School starting will bring a major shift in our family's daily life. I am excited to see all God has for us in this new season!

The Lord bless you and keep you over this weekend.

1018. MK's sweet ways with younger siblings...when she sees CA less than willing to finish her food, she offers to tell her a story or read her a book, all the while saying "okay! take a bite, then I'll turn the page!" So heartwarming to see this.

1019. making a list. this brought me to tears a moment ago. how long has it been since I inventoried our food supply, then made a menu based on it, then a grocery list based on that? It's very symbolic of a changing of seasons for me. And of the kindness of my God, for doing what is good.

1020. Over, and over, and over: reassured that He carries me...that I don't have to be strong. Today: My twins times two friend asks to take my two oldest as mommy's little helpers - a last summer adventure for my big ones (and their first "babysitting" opportunity), and a help to  my friend. This, giving me a laid back, quiet afternoon with the youngest 4. I can't thank Him enough for the way that He loves me.

  1. Oh yes, such a mercy to have the time and presence of mind to inventory the pantry, plan menus, and make a shopping list... I've been flying by the seat of my pants all summer. I realized about halfway through summer break that one of the hardest weekly tasks for me to do when I have all three kids in tow is grocery shopping.

    A laid back afternoon... yes, God is indeed merciful.
