Clouds and Sun

Do you ever feel like the photo above, surrounded by foggy mist, unable to think as clearly as you'd like? Or maybe your emotions aren't what you think they should be, and that has you feeling a bit disoriented inside?

That's me lately! The start of school has brought with it a barrage of details and new responsibilities and these threaten to overwhelm my mind. And then sometimes, I do feel "foggy" emotionally but for no real reason.

In all this, God urges me, "Keep talking to Me! Keep seeking first My Kingdom and My Righteousness!" And indeed, daily, I am seeing "all these things added unto me. " See Matthew 6:33. He is so faithful and so sure and unchanging and good.

BB read this verse this morning and urged me to do the same. It is wonderful, as is all of God's truth, and I love the way it points to right focus - right focus all the time, no matter how we feel or what circumstances are happening around us.

Thus says the LORD: “ Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD. Jeremiah 9:23-24

Let that, let Him, be our center when we feel less than centered. Keep seeking Him wholeheartedly because of Who He is. And, just as surely as the sun really is still shining behind the fog, Jesus is still every bit as in control, as Sovereignly wise as He has always been, lovingly ordering each detail of our lives.

  3. So true. I have been overwhelmed with the details of life lately and it has really affected my attitude. And if that's not bad enough, I have not been seeking Him in those overwhelming times.

On another note, Taylor got all that he was promised at work and more. We are so blessed that God knows what we need even when we don't and we don't deserve it.
