Muse

...but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching...Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.
I Timothy 4:12-13, 15

I've been musing over the above scriptures this week, trying to return to my Bible and reread them now and then during the day. Those simple commands, Be diligent in these matters and, give yourself wholly to them, reverberate in my mind and become prayers, deeper thoughts. In what ways can I give myself entirely to All That Matters? Hmmm...don't have the answer yet, but I'm pondering these things.

The photo is my Project 52 offering this week.

Theme: Muse.

I tried a few ideas and arrangements. The first was with my Bible open to 2 Timothy 3:16, which is the all scripture is God-breathed passage. God's Word inspires me, directs me, teaches me.

But the photos didn't capture all that.

So turned to my journal. I love to write...just to let thoughts flow out onto paper. It's the perfect place to muse, of course. I've filled dozens and dozens over the years. Often, they are part of my time with the Lord, as I have always had a thing for scribbling down verses that catch my attention...something about writing them down makes them more real, more permanent for me.

I hope you are having a pleasant week. Baby, it's cold outside here! Crazy, crazy cold! My big girls' school is canceled tomorrow, because the indoor sprinkler system at their school froze up, and more blackouts are expected. We will cozy up here. And do schoolwork. And clean the schoolroom.

  1. Isn't this weather crazy....70's one week and then below freezing the next! I am ready for spring for sure!!!

PS.. just had a very rewarding moment with Connor and his schooling! Can't wait to fill you in.

  2. Love your photo. I'm a fan of writing down verses too, maybe because it makes me slow down and think about what the verse is actually saying. I tend to default to speed-reading, so anything that slows me down is a good thing...

  3. I love the photo. The composition is perfect.

Did it snow there today? Bet the girls loved that.

    Love you all.

  4. You perfectly captured "muse" and in doing so reminded me to be diligent in meditating on God's word.
