Tasty Symmetry

CA helped me make cake the other day. I believe it was the day our Sunday school class families came over for salad night, and we made yellow cake.

During the first step, which is to whip the softened butter, CA was impressed by the pretty pattern formed by the mixing bowl, like a flowah, she said, in her "sometimes I still can't get my R's right" way of speaking. So we took lots of pictures.

The cake was quite tasty. I cut the sugar by at least 1/4 and switched out about 1/4 of the white flour for whole wheat. Our cake didn't look yellow because of the non-bleached sugar and the wheat flour. We served it with strawberries and fresh whipped cream. Didn't hear any complaints! Wink.

I was going to write about Serious Things today - conviction and sin and repentance and forgiveness and transformation. God is working these things in me right now. But it's been a long day, so I'll leave you with two great links I visited and appreciated.

Great snacking ideas from Ruth at GraceLaced - I'm inspired!

And, a wonderful, succinct post about, well, Serious Things that really, really resonates with my heart.

Have a happy weekend, friends!
