Newspapers and No News

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
This is what the ancients were commended for.
By faith, we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Hebrews 11:1-3

Another quiet one. We're getting close to 32 weeks, and Baby still seems happy and thriving!

Yesterday, I wrote each of the girls a note of encouragement. I'm praying it does just that for each of them. I sprayed them with my perfume.

I also discovered that my wonderful windows are twice as awesome when I pull the blinds all the way up. Took photos of the treetop view, only to realize I had the ISO set way, way high, so I'll have to retake them.

But the pictures I took of the girls' newspapers turned out fine! Their creativity makes me happy!

First, here is EG's:

Hers wins the award for Most Newspapery. She wrote these long, colorfully worded articles and laid it all out like a true newspaper.

Below: Don't miss out on old Mr. Guppy's birthday party....

Here's MK's work:

She wins the prize for Most Colorful and Humorous:

See the woman below in purple? MK cut out and glued a "hardhat" on her, because apparently this brave woman was willing to probe the depths of a pit once thought to be bottomless...

But the pointing guy - he is cracking me up! He's pointing at the dog, see? These photos go with an article she wrote about someone's lost dog.

According to MK, this is the latest style for eyes...I just thought it was a cool picture!

Don't miss out on a trip to the Art Meusem: All of Masters.  I do love museums and I think it's fun that she advertised one in her paper.

And her choice of art - love it! Maybe I should have her do a creative writing piece just based on the art. It's a picture with a story for sure...

LC gets the award for Most Dedicated to Animals:

Watch out! This dog Lillie escaped from the pet store and they think she stol a leash, too! I told LC that Lillie just has too innocent a face to be an escapee and thief and violent cat-attacker. LC just giggled.

AH's publication wins for Most Convincing Advertising. She was working all the sales angles! Here, she's featured a professional photographer. But just in case you're unsure about whether to hire Cami West...

...it may help you to know that the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez, and the President all recommend Ms. West's services.  Just so you know.

She did an article that was all birth announcements called Little Things. Cute.

This made me laugh though:

Here she accuses these two apparently preschool-aged children of stealing things off picnic tables and encourages people to alert the authorities if they spot the thieving children.

I teased AH about accusing those cute little kids of swiping things. She laughed and said that it looks like the girl is hiding/holding something there in her hand, which makes her look guilty.

And then there's the Look Good Feel Great clothing store, which is having a big sale...

Make sure you Cut Along Line and pay attention to that expiration date!

Lastly, I laughed out loud again at her final article, which announced a kidnapper on the loose, again. This time, kidnapper Molly Truman has sneaked away with none other than the 7 Von Trapp children! Yikes! I hope Molly got Maria, too, so she'll have help managing all the kiddos.

I hope these made you smile, too. I sent them back home with BB yesterday and most of the children said they were working on additional pages and stories.

Tonight, they all get to go to the RODEO with BB and another family. I am excited for them!

Oh, a sweet blessing from the Lord, His good care for us: BB got home from work yesterday to find two friends of ours doing handyman work! It was little random jobs we'd not addressed...a broken globe on a ceiling fan light fixture and such. How wonderful to have those things completed!

On a random note, there are a few things I'm still not quite used to regarding hospital life. One of these is the BIOHAZARD bags in my bathroom: a bright yellow one with its accompanying scary black symbol (that one's for linens...ie, I pitch my towel in there after a shower); then there's the screaming red one with its if you touch me you will die black symbol as well (that's the trash can liner). Makes me leery of even touching the bags themselves! Makes me think - wow, I must be a really toxic person!

I'm being silly, of course. But still. Just not used to all that yet.

Y'all have a great weekend! Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. Those little papers sure are cute! They did such a good job on them... Glad to hear 'no news' sounds like you might be getting a laid back easy baby, if hes going through all this and remaining so calm! Still cant believe you are having a boy and cant wait to hear the name! Did they give you an estimate on how long they will let you stay like this... or is it if everything is fine, he can stay for as long as no infection, no problems... that would be really great ... prayers still coming your way... hope you have a good weekend and hang in there... ! that is pretty scary alright ... you a bio hazard ... ha ! Love, Jamie
